You watch the genius speak. Yes this is what interests me! Strategy God - you tell yourself. The genius continues speaking. There is a discussion. You pop in words, he counters, he nods sometimes, he adds some other times. You tell yourself this is what B School is supposed to be - of intense discussions, of ideas flowing free and fast and a genius of a professor moderating the whole thing. Sadly he is on a sabbatical this year. If only B school had more of such discussions. Instead what do we have - A mad scramble for grades, where all you fight is for outscoring the other person. Where projects are a sham - when five people tell each other that everyone completes two pages and meet for ten minutes to join disparate sources of differently written sheets of paper. I dont know if its an innate thing in me to complain, but definitely a course can be better than this! And its not hard to see the flaws.
